Papa Jay In The Mix – 2016

By |07.05.2016|Categories: Musik, Papa Jay In The Mix|Tags: , , , |0 Comments

- 2016 - The summer promo mix 2016 was another of those weird mixes recorded during a period of self-discovery (in terms of electronic music that is). The result is a very unfocused mix with some strong tracks (like Terr's "Metropolis" or the Carlo Lio Remix of "Reis"). The first few tracks (Matthias Meyer's Remix of "Brun" and Baldo's Remix of "Easy Out") gave a hint in which direction my "Progressive By Nature" Mixes would develop over the next few years. Tracklist Liberto - Introducing (Objects In The Mirror Are Closer Than They Appear)[...]

Papa Jay In The Mix – 2015a.utumn

By |06.10.2015|Categories: Musik, Papa Jay In The Mix|Tags: , , |0 Comments

- 2015 - This promo mix was recorded in late 2015 and features primarily tech-house tracks - some of them not really memorable as I have to admit. The set starts with crunchy beats and grooves by Nicson, James Daniels and Medeev & Chicks Luv Us. Former Progressive-House hero Dousk is going the tech-house route as well, followed by the Catz 'n' Dogz remix of "Phil Kieran's "Saturdays". The latter is setting up the bouncy feel which works nicely with "Work It" by Agent & Vito & Danito which is one of the few standout tracks[...]

Papa Jay Unmixed – Grooves – Volume 3

By |07.06.2015|Categories: Musik, Papa Jay Unmixed|Tags: , , |0 Comments

- 2015 - The third edition of "Papa Jay Unmixed - Grooves" was created in mid 2015. Compared to the first volumes I partially used newer material and some rather old tunes like "The Pinoccio Theory" by legendary funk artist Bootsy Collins and "Vitamin C" by the experimental electronic/rock band Can. Alex Rizzo & Elliot Ireland aka Skeewiff are featured twice with more or less recent material at that time. Two remixes are taken from the very groovy album "Bossa Nova Just Smells Funky" by Bahama Soul Club. In addition enjoy tracks from the Thievery Corporation,[...]

Papa Jay In The Mix – Summer 2015

By |06.06.2015|Categories: Musik, Papa Jay In The Mix|Tags: , , , |0 Comments

- 2015 - The promo mix "Summer 2015" was recorded after a break of almost two years. My beloved Progressive House sound of the early 2000s was long gone and I still didn't really know where to go musicwise. I took some more or less recent tracks and mixed them with a bit older material. The result is surprisingly interesting at some points but outright awful on others. Tracklist Francesco Pico - Absolute Intro Claude VonStroke - Aundy (James Zabiela Mashup (DJ Marky & SPY)) Hakimonu & Roi Okev - Stimulation Jorge Takei -[...]

Papa Jay In The Mix – Progressive By Nature – Volume 2

By |06.07.2014|Categories: Musik, Papa Jay In The Mix|Tags: , |0 Comments

- 2014 - Volume 2 of the "Progressive By Nature" series is another mix featuring only tracks from my vinyl collection. After Smight's "Big Cash Money" the wonderful remix of "Invasion" by Eva Johnson and Medway sets the groovy tone for the first part of the set. Three originals by Quivver, Agent 001 and Pig & Dan pave the way for the second part which is kicked off by the dub mix of "Between U" by the mighty 16 Bit Lolita's & Stef Vrolijk. Things are getting hotter with Nic Fanciulli & Andy Chatterly's Skylark remix[...]
