Nach dem\u00a0Auchentoshan 12y<\/a>\u00a0und der \u201cAmerican Oak<\/a>\u201d Abf\u00fcllung, war unl\u00e4ngst der \u201cThree Wood\u201d zur Verkostung an der Reihe. Der dreifach destillierte Whisky reift in etwa 10 Jahre in ex-Bourbon F\u00e4ssern. Danach folgen 2 Jahre Nachreifung in Oloroso F\u00e4ssern und circa 6 Monate in Pedro Ximenez F\u00e4ssern. Der \u201cAuchentoshan Three Wood\u201d wird dann mit 43% abgef\u00fcllt.<\/p>\n

Im Glas hat der Whisky die Farbe von dunklem Bernstein mit einem Stich ins R\u00f6tliche.<\/p>\n

In der Nase machen sich angenehme Vanillenoten, jede Menge Sherry, Orangen und rote Fr\u00fcchte bemerkbar. Es folgen Schokolade, Malz- und deutliche Holznoten. Toffee und Karamell. Zimt war auch wahrnehmbar. Insgesamt eine sehr s\u00fc\u00dfe Angelegenheit.<\/p>\n

Geschmacklich orientiert sich der Whisky sehr an der Nase. Fruchtig (Orangen) mit Eiche, s\u00fc\u00dfe Vanillenoten und Schokolade. Karamell und s\u00fc\u00dfer Sirup. W\u00fcrzig und leicht trocken.<\/p>\n

Der Abgang ist mittellang bis lang, etwas trocken, fruchtig (Orangen und Birnen)<\/p>\n

Am n\u00e4chsten Tag waren Aromen von verbranntem Karamell im Glas.<\/p>\n

Nach den eher zur\u00fcckhaltenden Vertretern der Core Range ist diese Auchentoshan unerwartet intensiv und vollmundig. Tendenziell etwas f\u00fcr Freund von Sherry Whiskies. Mir hat er sehr gut geschmeckt.<\/p>\n<\/div>
